At its WWDC conference, Apple introduced macOS Tahoe, featuring a refreshed design and enhanced integration with iPhone and Apple Intelligence.
The update includes the new “Liquid Glass” interface, offering a sleek, customizable aesthetic with transparent, reflective elements. Users can now personalize folder icons with various colors.
macOS Tahoe strengthens continuity with iPhone by bringing Live Activities from iOS to Mac and launching a dedicated Phone app for the first time. This app supports new iOS features such as Call Screening and Hold Assist, alongside live translation capabilities for Phone, Messages, and FaceTime.
Spotlight receives significant AI-driven upgrades, delivering smarter search results tailored to user context and suggesting actions based on ongoing tasks. Users can perform tasks like composing and sending emails directly within Spotlight, bypassing other apps entirely.
The update also introduces customizable quick keys in Spotlight, enabling shortcuts for frequent actions, such as adding reminders or sending messages.
Additional features from iOS 26 are included, such as Genmoji and Image Playground enhancements, AI-powered reminders, a new Apple Games app, message backgrounds and polls, an updated FaceTime landing page, and the launch of the Journal app.
macOS Tahoe will be available this fall, with a public beta releasing next month. Developers have immediate access to an early version.
