Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2025 opened with a keynote highlighting updates to its operating systems, now named by year instead of version number. The centerpiece is a visual redesign called Liquid Glass, which unifies the look and features across all platforms.
Among the changes, Apple redesigned the iPhone’s Phone app, which will also be available on macOS Tahoe. Improvements to Apple Intelligence include live translation for text and speech, along with the Image Playground tool for creating customized backgrounds in group chats.
This focus on practical, user-friendly enhancements marks a shift from last year’s ambitious but undelivered AI promises. Apple appears to emphasize features that genuinely simplify user experience rather than competing loudly in AI innovation.
