Dell has introduced two new “Premium” laptops, the Dell 16 Premium and Dell 14 Premium, replacing its former XPS series earlier discontinued this year. These models feature Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 Arrow Lake processors and a slightly updated Dell logo but largely retain the design and specifications of the previous XPS 16 and XPS 14.

Kevin Terwilliger, Dell’s product management lead, described the rebranding as “a fresh chapter” aimed at simplifying PC selection while maintaining quality, design, and performance.

The laptops are available now in the US and Canada. The Dell 14 Premium starts at $1,649.99 ($2,649.99 CAD), and the Dell 16 Premium begins at $2,699.99 ($3,749.99 CAD). Both come in silver “Platinum” and dark gray “Graphite” colors, continuing the subdued aesthetic targeted for education and office settings.

The Dell 16 Premium upgrades to Nvidia’s latest RTX laptop GPUs, launching with the RTX 5060. Future configurations with RTX 5050, RTX 5070, and integrated Intel Arc graphics will arrive soon, with the RTX 5070 model also supporting Thunderbolt 5. Meanwhile, the Dell 14 Premium offers integrated Intel graphics or an RTX 4050 GPU option, similar to the 2024 XPS 14 but now supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM, doubling the previous limit. It also includes Wi-Fi 7 support, aligning with the new Dell 16 Premium.

Other features such as display, ports, storage, and overall design mirror last year’s XPS 14 and 16 models. The laptops retain the gapless “zero-lattice” keyboard with a capacitive touch function row, which reviewers found less impressive compared to older XPS 15 models or current MacBook Pros.
