DXVK 2.7 is now available, delivering significant updates to the translation layer that enables Direct3D 8/9/10/11 games to run on the Vulkan API. This software is a key component of Valve’s Steam Play (Proton) for running Windows games on Linux.
The new release features a rewritten descriptor management system, reducing CPU overhead and boosting performance in CPU-bound titles such as Final Fantasy XIV, God of War, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Watch Dogs 2.
Memory defragmentation is now enabled by default on newer Intel GPUs, including the Arc B-Series “Battlemage” discrete graphics and Lunar Lake integrated GPUs. Additional improvements include support for planar video output views and default zero-initialization of all variables and group-shared memory in D3D11 shaders.
The update also incorporates various optimizations and game-specific fixes. For downloads and further information, visit the DXVK GitHub page.
