Fitbit App Updates Device Settings Page to Mirror Pixel Watch Design

Fitbit has revamped the device settings page in its app for smartwatches and trackers running Fitbit OS, aligning the design more closely with the Pixel Watch companion app for Wear OS.

The update features a prominent device preview and current watch face at the top. Below, it displays connection status, battery level, and last sync time, with a “Sync now” button located in the upper-right corner. This replaces the older interface that relied on prominent tiles for various features.

A row of cards for Watch Faces, Apps, and Tiles follows the preview, offering quick access to management screens similar to the previous layout but with a refreshed appearance inspired by the Pixel Watch app.

The redesigned settings menu on devices like the Fitbit Sense 2 includes categories such as:

  • Notifications: Calls, texts, and app alerts
  • Device preferences: Wrist selection and device lock
  • Google: Wallet and Maps integration
  • Fitbit reminders & alerts: Move reminders, goal celebrations, and heart rate warnings
  • Tips & support: Tutorials, device guides, and help
  • System: Software updates and device disconnection
  • Smart features: Amazon Alexa and on-wrist calls

Fitbit trackers receive a similar redesign, with the update rolling out in recent weeks.

Over the past year, Fitbit has progressively updated both the Android and iOS apps, modernizing health stats layouts and charts, except for food logging, and refreshing app settings last June. Google has previewed a Material 3 Expressive redesign for the Fitbit Android app, which is expected to introduce a dark theme.
