HoYoverse, the developer of the open-world RPG Genshin Impact, announced it will cease support for the PlayStation 4 version, citing hardware performance constraints and platform application size limits.
The PS4 version will be removed from the PlayStation Store on September 10, 2025. Following this, in-game purchase options will be disabled on both the store and in-game shop starting February 25, 2026.
Players who purchased items on the PlayStation Store but have not yet redeemed them can still claim these by logging into the game on PS4 before the update discontinuation. After April 8, 2026, any unclaimed purchases can only be redeemed by logging in on a PlayStation 5 system.
Service for PS4 players will officially end on April 8, 2026. Meanwhile, Genshin Impact will continue normal operation on PlayStation 5 and other supported platforms. HoYoverse encourages PS4 users to migrate to PS5 or alternate platforms, assuring that game progress will remain intact.
Genshin Impact is currently available on PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S, PC (via client download and Epic Games Store), iOS (App Store), and Android (Google Play).
