Google has launched Doppl, a new experimental app that uses AI to help users visualize how different outfits might look on them. Available on iOS and Android in the U.S., Doppl allows users to virtually try on clothes using a digital version of themselves.
To use the app, users upload a full-body photo, then select outfit images from various sources such as thrift store photos, friends, or social media screenshots. Doppl generates images of the user wearing the chosen outfit and can also create AI-generated videos to show how the clothing would look in real life.
Users can save their favorite looks, browse past try-ons, and share their styles with others. The app builds on Google Shopping’s recent virtual try-on features, offering a standalone platform for a more interactive style exploration.
Unlike previous Google virtual try-on tools that displayed clothing on diverse models, Doppl creates an animated version of the user’s own body for a personalized experience.
“We hope Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” Google said, noting the app is in early experimental stages and may not always deliver accurate fit or details.
As an experimental product under Google Labs, Doppl’s wider release and expansion into other markets remain uncertain.
