Google has announced that its image editing feature, Nano Banana, has attracted more than 10 million new users to the Gemini app.
Josh Woodward, Google’s vice president, revealed that Nano Banana has edited over 200 million images since its introduction. Among the popular uses is a prompt that turns photos of people into figurines displayed on a desk.
Launched last week as part of a major update, Nano Banana integrates a built-in editor powered by DeepMind technology. It allows users to create unique photo edits using text prompts, including blending multiple images or reimagining selfies in creative settings such as astronauts or rock stars.
The feature supports continuous design editing, enabling users to expand on initial ideas with follow-up prompts, such as adding elements to an empty room.
Google highlighted these milestones in a social media post, emphasizing the rapid user engagement and viral prompts fueling the app’s growth.
