Rockstar Games is showing confidence in the May 26, 2026, release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, as new job listings indicate preparations for a wide-reaching international marketing campaign.
Previously scheduled for fall 2025, the game was delayed to May 2026. Take-Two Interactive’s CEO has emphasized that Rockstar commits firmly to announced dates. Current hiring at Rockstar London targets “language marketing localisation positions” to support marketing materials across 12 countries, including Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Russia, China, and Spain.
The roles involve creating marketing style guides and ensuring accurate and authentic translations. These positions are fixed terms lasting 12 months, aligning with the lead-up to the game’s launch and reflecting Rockstar’s confidence in the timeline.
With Take-Two’s CEO describing the delay as “less than six months,” the extra time seems focused on polishing the final product. Anticipation remains high, with predictions that GTA 6 will become the biggest game launch ever, expected to surpass $1 billion in pre-orders worldwide.
Marketing efforts are likely to intensify around December or January, following two trailer releases so far. Rockstar is expected to offer detailed gameplay reveals and deeper looks into key characters like Jason and Lucia as the launch approaches.
Additionally, a Grammy-winning music producer has indicated that GTA 6 will feature custom music stations, enhancing the in-game audio experience.
