A box for the Quest 3S Xbox Edition has reportedly leaked, nearly a year after Meta announced a limited-edition Quest headset inspired by Xbox. The new model is rumored to launch next week.

In April 2024, Meta introduced its plan to expand the Quest Horizon OS to third-party headsets and revealed it was collaborating with Microsoft to develop a limited-edition Meta Quest featuring Xbox-inspired design elements. The initial concept showed a black Quest 3 with a green facial interface.

Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the headset would come bundled with an Xbox controller, enabling Xbox Cloud Gaming without additional hardware.

Today, gaming news outlet Game Sandwich reported this edition will be a 128GB Quest 3S with black and green accents, including a matching Elite Strap, the Xbox controller, and three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The price is expected to be $400, which is $100 more than the regular Quest 3S but $100 less than purchasing all components separately.

VR developer RJ White shared an image of the alleged box on social media, later deleting it. White told UploadVR the source was a Best Buy employee. The leaked packaging does not display Meta’s Touch controllers, and the report does not mention their inclusion.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently available on Quest headsets, reflecting the ongoing partnership between Meta and Microsoft. This collaboration, announced in 2022, has brought Xbox Cloud Gaming, Remote Desktop for Windows 11 PCs, and Office web apps support to Quest. The new limited edition marks an expansion into co-branded hardware, though it does not include an Xbox VR headset or console integration.
