LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky revealed that the platform’s AI-generated writing suggestions for posts have not gained as much popularity as expected.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Roslansky explained that users are more cautious about posting on LinkedIn since it serves as an online resume. He pointed out that if content appears to be AI-generated, users risk damaging their professional reputation, which can affect their career opportunities.
“If you’re getting called out on X or TikTok, that’s one thing,” he said. “But when you’re getting called out on LinkedIn, it really impacts your ability to create economic opportunity for yourself.”
Despite this, LinkedIn is seeing significant growth in AI-related areas. Job listings requiring AI skills have increased sixfold over the past year, and users adding AI skills to their profiles have grown twentyfold.
Roslansky also shared that he uses AI tools himself, especially when communicating with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. “Every time, before I send him an email, I hit the Copilot button to make sure that I sound Satya-smart,” he said.
