Recent teardown analysis by iFixit revealed that the Switch 2 Joy-Con sticks are built similarly to those of the original Switch. This has raised concerns among fans about the persistence of Joy-Con drift issues on the new console.
In response, GuliKit, a company specializing in hall effect and TMR joysticks, announced it is developing magnetic replacement sticks compatible with the Switch 2.
Joy-Con drift has been a widespread problem throughout the life of the original Switch, leading to multiple lawsuits against Nintendo. Nintendo Life staff have also reported experiencing drift in their controllers.
As the Switch 2 is still new, it remains uncertain whether drift issues will persist, but industry watchers are monitoring the situation closely.
