MARA Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA), a leading digital energy infrastructure company, released its June 2025 bitcoin production update and provided a mid-year hashrate outlook.

In June, MARA mined 211 bitcoin blocks, a 25% decrease from May’s 282 blocks, due primarily to weather-related downtime and temporary use of older mining equipment during storm repairs. Additionally, natural variability in block rewards affected production.

The company’s energized hashrate was slightly down, at 57.4 exahash per second (EH/s) compared to May’s 58.3 EH/s. Despite the monthly decline, MARA raised its year-end hashrate target to 75 EH/s, representing over 40% growth from 2024. This expansion is supported by 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of captive power capacity—1.1 GW operational—and a pipeline exceeding 3 GW of low-cost power projects.

MARA’s bitcoin holdings increased to 49,940 BTC by June 30, 2025, with no sales in the month. This total includes 15,534 BTC that are loaned, pledged as collateral, or held in managed accounts for the company’s benefit.

Operational Highlights (June 2025 vs. May 2025):

  • Blocks won: 211 (down 25%)
  • BTC produced: 713 BTC (down 25%)
  • Average BTC per day: 23.8 (down 23%)
  • Energized hashrate: 57.4 EH/s (down 2%)
  • Share of miner rewards: 5.4% (down from 6.5%)
  • Transaction fees as % of total rewards: 1.4%

Fred Thiel, MARA’s Chairman and CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to rapid growth driven by efficient capital deployment and access to low-cost power. Thiel noted the milestone approaching 50,000 BTC as evidence of MARA’s focused strategy combining mining and strategic acquisitions.

The company cautioned investors regarding risks associated with forward-looking statements and cryptocurrency mining operations, recommending review of their SEC filings for detailed risk factors.
