Nintendo has released version 1.1.1 of Mario Kart World for the Switch 2, addressing several gameplay and online issues.
The patch, available since June 17, 2025, fixes problems including item usage, control responsiveness, game crashes, and online play inconsistencies. Key fixes include:
- Restored functionality for item usage.
- Resolved control issues during character selection and Free Roam startup.
- Fixed crashes occurring during race replays and after online races.
- Corrected erroneous rate fluctuation displays in Knockout Tour and Online Play modes.
- Improved stability when joining friends in VS Race or Battle via online play.
- Prevented players from slipping through walls near the DK Spaceport finish line.
- Addressed positioning errors after falling off courses in Airship Fortress and Bowser’s Castle while gliding.
To continue enjoying modes like Knockout Tour online, players must update to this latest version. The update can be installed manually via the software options on the Switch 2 Home menu or by launching the game and following the prompt.
