Hundreds of Microsoft 365 users reported issues with Outlook and Teams on Monday evening, causing widespread frustration. Users took to social media to share problems ranging from crashes to high memory usage.
Downdetector recorded a surge of over 1,400 complaints starting around 6:30 pm, with 59% related to Outlook, 26% concerning login problems, and 15% about the Microsoft 365 website.
Microsoft acknowledged the disruptions, stating, “We’re having issues, but we’re working on it.” The company confirmed intermittent crashes in the Microsoft Teams desktop app and marked Teams as currently down.
Microsoft is deploying a new build expected to resolve Teams issues by Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM UTC. Although complaints about Outlook persisted, Microsoft reported the service as up.
Earlier in the week, Microsoft shared a possible workaround for Outlook crashes linked to the inability to open the Forms Library, particularly affecting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) users. The suggested fix involves creating a FORMS2 folder, and the issue is under investigation.
Microsoft 365 serves over two million companies worldwide, including more than one million in the US.
