Microsoft Introduces Xbox Home UI Customization with Game Pinning

Microsoft has released an update to the Xbox Home UI that enables users to pin games and apps for quicker access. This update also adds options to customize the homescreen by hiding system apps and controlling the number of recently used items displayed.

Users can pin up to three recently launched games or apps, keeping them prominent in the recently used section regardless of other activity. Additionally, system apps like Settings and the Store can be hidden entirely from the Home UI.

To further streamline the interface, users can limit the recently used section to as few as four tiles, with options ranging from four to nine items, the default number shown by Microsoft.

These features are included in the June Xbox dashboard update, available now under Settings > General > Personalization > Games & apps. Microsoft began testing these customization options last month and has quickly made them available to all Xbox users.
