Microsoft Launches Aggregated PC Game Library in Xbox App for Windows

Microsoft has begun testing a new aggregated gaming library within the Xbox app for Windows. This feature, now available to testers, consolidates games installed from multiple launchers—including Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Ubisoft, and Riot Games—into a single library.

Upon launch, Microsoft’s Xbox app automatically detects installed games, displaying them with relevant thumbnails, game titles, and the original launcher source. Users can launch games directly or view them through their original platforms. The app also allows hiding specific games if desired, although the thumbnails and icons are noted to be rough around the edges in this beta version.

It is important to note that this integration is limited to cataloging; users will not receive Xbox achievements or new features for games from other stores. This unified library aims to position the Xbox app on Windows as the central hub for PC gaming, enhancing the overall experience, including on handheld Windows devices.

Separately, several users have reported that the “Xbox full-screen experience” setting has appeared unexpectedly on their ROG Ally devices. While the setting is visible, the functionality is not yet active. Microsoft has confirmed that existing devices like the ROG Ally will eventually support this full-screen Xbox experience, which will debut on the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally hardware expected later this year.

Those interested in testing the consolidated library can join the Xbox Insider program by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub app, enrolling in the PC gaming preview, and updating the Xbox app via the Microsoft Store.
