Mojang has announced that Minecraft’s “Vibrant Visuals” update will launch on June 17. This update introduces enhanced visual elements including directional lighting and volumetric fog, aimed at improving the overall look of the game.

The update adjusts the atmosphere of each biome, with warmer areas displaying orange and yellow hues, while cooler biomes take on a crisper blue tone. According to Mojang, these changes are purely aesthetic and do not affect gameplay mechanics such as light levels or mob spawning.

Vibrant Visuals will be available on many platforms supporting Minecraft Bedrock Edition, and will activate by default on compatible devices once updated. The feature is currently not available for the Java Edition, but Mojang is actively developing a version for it.

Dejan Dimic, the lead on Vibrant Visuals, described this release as the first step in modernizing Minecraft’s visual experience and expressed eagerness to receive player feedback.
