Nintendo has expanded the GameCube library on the Switch 2 by adding Super Mario Strikers, available from July 3. This marks the first new title added since the launch lineup, which includes The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur II, and F-Zero GX.
Originally released in 2005 by Next Level Games, Super Mario Strikers is a fast-paced, five-on-five soccer game featuring Mario characters and power-ups like shells and mushrooms. Players can score with the “Super Strike,” a special powerful shot worth two points.
To access the game, users must have a Nintendo Switch 2 and an active Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The title will also be available in Japan starting the same day.
Additional GameCube games planned for the service include Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and Pokémon Colosseum. Meanwhile, enhancements have also been made to the Nintendo 64 library on the Switch 2.
