Nintendo’s Drag x Drive for Switch 2 Lacks Local Multiplayer Support

Drag x Drive, Nintendo’s upcoming 3v3 wheelchair basketball game for the Switch 2, appears to lack local multiplayer functionality.

Details from the game’s Switch 2 eShop page reveal that Drag x Drive supports up to 12 players online, but each player requires their own console. This suggests that split-screen or shared-device local multiplayer will not be available.

Priced at £16.99 in the UK, the game allows only one player per console, so even with extra Joy-Con controllers connected, multiple users cannot play together on the same device. Eurogamer has reached out to Nintendo for clarification and will provide updates as available.

Originally announced during Nintendo’s April Switch 2 Direct, Drag x Drive utilizes the console’s mouse functionality and Joy-Con controls to steer, boost, perform tricks, and execute moves like dunks.

The title is scheduled for release on August 14th exclusively via the Switch 2 eShop.
