Nothing has announced that its Android 16 update, branded as Nothing OS 4.0, will be released before the end of September.
Google launched Android 16 earlier than usual this year, disrupting the typical update schedules for many brands. Known for relatively slow major updates, Nothing is promising a faster rollout this time.
The company teased Nothing OS 4.0 would arrive in Q3 alongside the launch of the Nothing Phone (3). While the initial focus is on the Phone (3), it is expected that earlier Nothing devices will receive the update soon after, though exact dates are not yet confirmed.
This marks an improvement over previous rollouts; Nothing began distributing Android 15 only at the end of 2023, completing updates across devices within a few weeks.
Details on the new features and enhancements of Nothing OS 4.0 remain under wraps.
