Earlier this month, 2,810 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles were stolen from a truck in Arapahoe County, Colorado, according to local police. The theft was discovered at a pre-inspection stop when the driver noticed the trailer had been broken into during transit to a GameStop in Texas.
Police revealed the consoles were missing at a truck stop in Bennett, Colorado. Each unit, part of a bundle with Mario Kart World, is valued at $499, putting the total loss at approximately $1.4 million.
The details on how the large quantity of consoles was stolen remain unclear. Photos from Arapahoe police showed pallets left inside the trailer, raising questions about the method used to remove thousands of units quickly. The investigation is ongoing.
