Replacement Magnetic Joy-Con Sticks in Development for Switch 2 Amid Drift Concerns

Recently, the repair community iFixit released a teardown of the new Switch 2 Joy-Con, revealing that the joystick components closely resemble those used in the original Switch. This similarity has caused concern among fans fearing that Joy-Con drift issues may persist with the new console.

Addressing these worries, GuliKit, a company specializing in hall effect and TMR joystick technology, announced it is developing magnetic replacement sticks for the Switch 2.

Joy-Con drift, a widespread problem affecting the original Switch, resulted in numerous lawsuits against Nintendo. Many users, including staff at Nintendo Life, have experienced joystick failures due to drift.

Since the Switch 2 is still new, it remains unclear if the drift issue will continue. However, developments like GuliKit’s replacement sticks suggest the problem is already being taken seriously.
