David Schwartz, chief technology officer at Ripple, has confirmed that Arthur Britto, the co-creator of the XRP Ledger, posted on social media for the first time in nearly 14 years.

Britto’s sudden activity on X (formerly Twitter) sparked speculation after he shared a single mysterious emoji. His account, created in August 2011, had never posted before, leading some to suspect it had been hacked.

Schwartz dismissed these concerns, stating there was no security breach and that Britto himself made the post. “Unless, of course, I was hacked too. How deep does this conspiracy go?” Schwartz joked on X.

Earlier this month, Schwartz revealed he remains in contact with Britto, who is known for maintaining an extremely private life. Apart from being a former video game designer, little is publicly known about Britto, and no photos of him exist on social media.

Since the emoji post, Britto’s account has gained close to 30,000 followers, with the tweet attracting nearly 800,000 views. The XRP community continues to speculate about the emoji’s meaning as they await any future posts.
