Samsung has announced plans to roll out the One UI 8 beta to additional Galaxy Watch models beyond its latest releases, though specific details remain unclear.
The One UI 8 update, which initially launched with the Galaxy Watch 8 series—including the base model, Watch 8 Classic, and the new 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra—introduces new features such as an updated tile system and enhanced health monitoring. Built on Wear OS 6, the update has been well-received as a significant improvement over Samsung’s previous collaboration with Google.
The company confirmed that One UI 8 will extend to older Galaxy Watch models at some point “later this year.” However, Samsung has not provided an exact release date or specified which devices will receive the update. It is likely that supported models will include those back to the Galaxy Watch 4, which was initially not expected to get the upgrade but now appears to be included.
For users eager to experience One UI 8 now, it is available on the Watch 8 series. Trade-in offers remain available for those upgrading, though they have diminished since the pre-order period. The Galaxy Watch 8 starts at $349.
