Sega Makes Nine Retro Mobile Games Free Before Removing Them

Sega is discontinuing support for nine retro games previously ported to iOS and Android, making them free to download and removing all in-app purchases in the process, according to a report from Android Authority.

The titles remain available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store but now display a pop-up indicating that support will end, though offline play will still be possible.

These games were part of Sega’s Forever program, which was discontinued in late 2023. Sega had previously removed several titles, including Phantasy Star Classics, from mobile stores. While the exact removal date for these nine games remains unspecified, they are expected to be delisted soon.

Users who have already downloaded the games can continue playing them offline even after removal from the stores.
