Sega has made nine mobile retro games free to download before they are removed from app stores. These titles were part of the Sega Forever program, which re-released classic Sega games on iOS and Android devices.
Players have reported seeing pop-up messages advising that support for these games will be discontinued, though offline play will remain available.
The affected games are:
- Crazy Taxi Classic
- Golden Axe Classics
- Shining Force Classics
- Sonic CD Classic
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II
- Streets of Rage Classic
- Streets of Rage 2 Classic
- Super Monkey Ball: Sakura
- Virtua Tennis Challenge
Golden Axe Classics and Shining Force Classics each include three games, bringing the total number of games to 13.
While Sega has not announced an exact date for the delisting, all nine titles remain available on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store as of now. Notably, their in-app purchases have been removed. Previously, players could remove ads via a small one-time purchase, but these games are now entirely free and ad-free.
Players are encouraged to download and add these games to their libraries before they are potentially removed.
