Shytoshi Kusama, the enigmatic leader of the SHIB project, ended nearly a month of silence on social media by teasing significant developments for July.
Kusama’s last post was on June 13, and he resurfaced on July 1 with a teaser about an “upcoming AI-focused whitepaper” and referred to the month as “JUL-AI.” He urged the SHIB community to prepare for multiple announcements and discussions regarding the project’s progress and future direction.
Accompanied by an AI-generated video resembling scenes from “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith,” Kusama narrated a timeline leading up to July, emphasizing a pause in June and signaling a new phase starting now.
Earlier in the year, the SHIB team launched the Alpha Layer, a layer-3 solution operating on top of the Shibarium network, indicating ongoing technological advancements.
In related news, Kaal Dhairya, a top SHIB developer and Kusama’s close associate, addressed Vitalik Buterin’s recent tweet about the Crypto Relief initiative. Buterin had thanked Binance CEO CZ for a $10 million BNB donation supporting bio-tech efforts against airborne viruses.
Dhairya clarified that Crypto Relief was primarily funded by trillions of SHIB tokens originally gifted to Buterin by SHIB founder Ryoshi in 2020, with most of the 500 trillion SHIB donated to help combat the pandemic.
“Since @VitalikButerin forgot to mention the billions in #SHIB tokens that actually funded @CryptoRelief_, let me help complete his tweet,” Dhairya stated.
