Konami has announced a remake of the original Silent Hill during its Press Start showcase. The game is currently “in development” and is being developed by Bloober Team in collaboration with Konami.

The reveal included a brief trailer featuring the iconic Silent Hill 1 intro theme, confirming the remake is of the 1999 original title in the horror series.

Bloober Team previously developed the Silent Hill 2 remake, which was critically acclaimed. In Eurogamer’s review, Vikki Blake praised the remake for expanding the game while preserving its core essence.

This marks the first official remake of Silent Hill 1, although the game was reimagined in 2009’s Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, which offered a fresh take on the original story and was released on Wii and PS2.

In addition to the remake, Bloober Team is also working on Cronos: The New Dawn, which had its release date announced recently at Summer Game Fest.
