The rapidly evolving crypto gaming sector saw major developments this week, including Dogecoin-themed game releases and the launch of a new blockchain soccer title.

Dogecoin Gaming Growth

PlaysOut plans to roll out about 15 Dogecoin-themed mini-games through 2025, starting with a launch in August. These hypercasual games will be accessible via the MyDoge wallet and PlaysOut’s mobile app, leveraging the DogeOS layer on Dogecoin’s blockchain.

Players can earn DOGE tokens through leaderboards, quests, and competitions, while in-game items can be traded as Dogecoin NFTs, called Doginals. The titles will cover diverse genres including life simulators and puzzles, aiming to extend Dogecoin’s practical use beyond simple token holding.

PlaysOut, which adapts successful WeChat games for Western markets, is also negotiating licensing agreements to introduce global intellectual property into the Dogecoin gaming ecosystem, supporting both utility and culture for the meme coin.

FIFA Rivals Launch

Mythical Games launched FIFA Rivals, a mobile blockchain soccer game available on iOS and Android. The company projects the game could surpass its NFL Rivals title—which attracted seven million players—due to soccer’s global fan base of approximately five billion.

FIFA Rivals features a multi-year licensing agreement with Adidas, including collectible gear and sponsored athletes like Lionel Messi. Built on the Mythos blockchain, the game permits free trading of in-game assets. Mythical Games holds a FIFA contract covering multiple World Cups and plans to introduce AI sports agents, esports competitions, and new modes throughout the year.
