Warner Bros. Games has reorganized its structure into divisions centered on four main franchises: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and the DC Universe. This restructuring aligns development, production, and technology operations under specialized leadership.

As part of the changes, three studio heads were promoted to senior vice president roles. Yves Lachance, studio head at Warner Bros. Games Montréal, will oversee development for Harry Potter and Game of Thrones titles. Shaun Himmerick, head of NetherRealm Studios, now leads development for Mortal Kombat and DC games. Steven Flenory, chief of Warner Bros. Games New York, was promoted to senior vice president of central technology and services, managing game technology, publishing, customer service, quality assurance, and user research.

Development, production, and tech teams will report to Lachance and Himmerick, aligned with their respective franchises. The publishing leadership team remains unchanged. Variety confirms no layoffs or executive departures were involved in this reorganization.

The restructuring follows the January departure of former Warner Bros. Games chief David Haddad. It remains unclear if this new leadership setup replaces Haddad permanently or if the company will seek a new overall head.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced on June 9 plans to split into two companies by mid-2026: WBD Streaming & Studios, led by CEO David Zaslav, which will include Warner Bros. Games; and WBD Global Networks, led by CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels. This separation reflects a broader pivot toward franchise-focused organization seen across the TV and film studios.

Under the new framework, Lachance, Himmerick, and Flenory will report directly to J.B. Perrette, CEO of global streaming and games at Warner Bros. Discovery. Perrette emphasized the company’s commitment to long-term franchise roadmaps to engage players and fans.

“Our company is home to some of the biggest franchises in the world, and we are optimizing our team structure to develop long-term franchise roadmaps to delight players and fans of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat and DC games,” said Perrette. “We are very fortunate to have a strong stable of development and technology talent, and Yves, Shaun and Steven are respected leaders with excellent track records in their areas of expertise. I’m looking forward to working closely with them and the team as we work to make the best games possible for our key franchises.”
